Kato Gouves is a sun bathed Mediterranean resort area located on the northern coast of Crete, the largest and most southerly of the Greek islands. Just a few of its main attractions for the tourist include its proximity to the main airport at Heraklion, making transfers blissfully short, its small town atmosphere, great beaches nearby and the traditional Cretan charm and hospitality. Gouves, and nearby facilities are able to offer a nice quality of vacation away from the throb of town centers to the tranquility of the villages, with something to suit most needs. Bars, taverns, municipal facilities and plenty of shops could occupy a visitor for an entire stay, but easy public transport to major island towns including Heraklion, Malia, Hersonissos and beyond make this a great base for those who may still want to explore & adventure further afield.

Centrally located, Gouves is an ideal choice for exploring the island and the road west takes you to Heraklion, Rethymnon and Chania, to the east are Hersonissos Mallia and Agios Nikolaos and small roads cross the island leading through the mountains to the south coast

15 minutes west of Gouves is the capital of Crete, Heraklion where you can visit the archaeological Museum as well as Knossos Minoan Palace, which are ideal for those of you wanting to find out about the history of Crete.

Only 10 minutes walking distance on the beach road, you can visit Crete Aquarium where hundreds of species and thousands of organisms will come face to face, fascinating you with their behavior and revealing the wide variety of shapes, colors, habits and needs of their own world. The Crete Golf Club – only 7Km from Evdokia Apartments – is home to the first 18-hole course on the island and it is a layout that few visitors will ever forget.

A great shopping in the city of Heraklion is also available with a big variety of shops. Gouves is connected to Heraklion, the capital city, by regular bus service every 30 minutes. Also Hersonissos is in the same vicinity (only 10 minutes by bus).
