Description
Voidomatis or Vouidomatos (i.e. ox’s eye) is located 62km south of Heraklion and 2.5km east of the settlement Treis Ekklisies, on the southern slopes of Asterousia Mounts. The impressive technical gorge of Mesosfinis with towering walls and wild cliffs, a very common landscape for Asterousia, exits at Voidomatis. At the exit of the gorge, a stunning beach with sand and blue water is shaped. There are two big rocks in the sea. However, the characteristic feature of this place is the awesome huge cave (ox's eye), formed in the east end of the beach. This sea cave is the eye of the ox! Access here can be done through the old dirt road that connected Treis Ekklisies to village Mournia. Around Voidomatis there are several bays with beautiful beaches. You won’t find anyone there, except from some locals.
