Thrapsano

Thrapsano (Greek: Θραψανό) is a former municipality in the Heraklion regional unit, Crete, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Minoa Pediada, of which it is a municipal unit.[2] The municipal unit has an area of 37.292 km2 (14.399 sq mi).[3] Population 1,588 (2021).

Thrapsano village is located roughly 30 km. south-east of Heraklion and is at an altitude of 340m. The village is - at least on the island of Crete– well known and particularly to seniors because of the Ventema.
