Description

28 km east of Rethymno and very close to the main road Heraklion – Rethymno, lies the little-known beach of Spilies, also known as Tou Maliou to Riaki.

Spilies, surrounded by tall rocks, is an impressive small pebble beach with deep, beautiful waters. Its special feature is that on both sides there are many caves where the Mediterranean monk seal seeks shelter.

The beach is organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, and there is a small canteen along the coast.
