Description
Souda Beach is formed in the homonymous bay on the southern coast, about 36 kilometers from the city of Rethymnon. The beach is notable for the small palm grove at the estuary of the Fikikas River to the west of the beach.
The beach is quite long, sandy, with shallow, clear waters. It is well organized, and around it there are several tavernas and rental rooms, attracting many visitors during the summer months. The rocky outcrops at both ends of the beach, as well as in some areas of the sea, spark visitors’ interest for exploration.
