Description
The Holy Monastery of Christ the Savior (Sotira Christou Koumpe) is a peaceful, active nunnery located in the Koumbes area on the northwestern side of Rethymno, Crete. Established around 1550 and rebuilt in 1935, this Orthodox monastery features a two-aisled church dedicated to the Transfiguration of Christ and Saint John the Forerunner.
