Port of Rethymno

The Port of Rethymno is an important part of the municipality, with a land area of 31,000 square meters and platforms measuring 900 meters in length. It's located on the northern and western coasts of Rethymno, making it easily accessible for ships approaching the port. The port has been deemed of national importance, as it averages around 230 ship arrivals per year

This mixed-use port serves both commercial and passenger traffic, with all types of cargo being handled in the western part of the port. In addition, tourist boats are occasionally berthed here, and there is a weighbridge with a capacity of 80 tons. It has five cargo platforms, labeled A, B, C, D, and E, which can accommodate up to five ships at once (depending on their size).

While the main purpose of the platforms is to serve the commercial traffic of the port, they can also be used to service tourist boats that are longer than 150 meters.
