Description
In addition to its beautiful beaches, Bali is also steeped in history. It was once the port of Axos, where the legendary giant of Crete, Talos, stopped during his journeys. During the Venetian Era, this area was known as Atali and the present name originates from the Turkish era. Bali is now a modern resort with a full range of amenities, including taverns, restaurants, small shops, a diving school, bars, discos, clinic and pharmacy.
What’s more, visitors can take advantage of daily excursion boats to Rethymnon, admiring the unique coastline with its beautiful caves and rock formations along the way. Other attractions include the Monastery Atali (1635) and the church of Panagia Charakiani.
