Monument of the fallen Marmaketo

The Monument of the Fallen in Marmaketo is a stone-built memorial located in the village square. It features a rough limestone base topped with a bronze bust of a Cretan man in traditional dress, symbolizing the villagers who fought and died in war. A central plaque bears names and dates, including “ΕΜΜ. ΚΑΖΑΝΗΣ 1943–1946,” marking those who died during World War II and the Greek Civil War.
