The Marathokefala cave in Rethymno prefecture is located near the village of Kinigiana, 29 km southeast of Rethymno.

In the area of Mylopotamos, where the cave lies, many caves were spotted, but the Marathokefala cave or Marathospilos is considered one of the most beautiful caves in this region, with its length reaching 160 meters.
