The Loggia of Rethymno is one of the most striking examples of Venetian architecture remaining in the town’s historic centre. Built in the 16th century by Venetian designers, the Loggia originally served as a gathering place for the city’s nobles and officials — a kind of civic hall where politics, trade, and social life were discussed.
