Description
This is the original house of Rodanthi the local Greek heroine who was kidnapped by the ruling Turks of the day (in the early 1800s), but escaped into the local mountains, and fought against the oppressive regime in the resistence by disguising herself as a man.
Artifacts in the museum are all local, antique hand-made items - replicants of the way of life back in the time of Rodanthi. The musem curator, Maria, is a decendent of the heroine and is available for private tours, questions, or a friendly and knowledgeable chat about the history or current village information. Young visitors are welcome!
