Kourtaliotis river

The Kourtaliotis River is a scenic river in southern Rethymnon, flowing through the dramatic Kourtaliotiko Gorge. It originates from springs in the surrounding mountains and continues southward, eventually reaching the Libyan Sea near the famous Preveli Beach.

The river has a relatively постоянный (perennial) flow compared to many Cretan rivers, especially due to strong springs within the gorge. It forms small waterfalls, lush vegetation, and a palm forest near its lower course, making it one of the most beautiful river landscapes on the island.
