Description

Kamini is an area with 5 pebble beaches in a series close to the famous Minoan settlement Gournia by Pahia Ammos. The area is located north of the archaeological site and was probably the access point of Gournia to the sea. Therefore we still meet Minoan buildings in the area with the most important almost on the sea level. We can see traces of rooms, walls and shipsheds (boathouses). At the same area the necropolis of Gournia has been identified.

Apart from the archaeological importance of the region, Kamini has an exceptional natural beauty. Around the coastline limestone conglomerates and dark red soil form a colorful scenery.
