Description
Kamari Beach (also known as Gerani Beach) is a small, charming shore covered in pebbles and sand, with large rocks protruding from the water. A few sunbeds and umbrellas line the coast, and the rocky seabed makes it ideal for snorkeling.
The area offers several rooms to let, taverns, and the chapel of Panagia Koumariani, dedicated to the Virgin Mary near the beach. The standout sight nearby is the Gerani Cave, one of Crete’s most beautiful caves and well worth a visit.
To reach the beach, take the intercity bus from Rethymno to Chania. Alternatively, driving from Rethymno Town takes about 15 minutes.
