The Historical and Folklore Museum of Viannos was founded in 1996. The museum has a folk collection, with a large number of objects from the agricultural and everyday life of the inhabitants of Crete, as well as a historical collection of documents, coins, photographs and other testimonies of the 18th, 19th and 20th century.
It also includes arms and ammunition of World War I and World War II, when the villages of Viannos were completely destroyed. There is also one unit dedicated to I. Kondylakis, one of the most important modern Greek writers.
