Hersonissos Beach

Hersonissos Beach is located at Limenas Hersonissou, 24 kilometers east of Heraklion Town. It is a narrow, well-organised sandy beach, with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as cafes and restaurants on the promenade that lines the coast. This beach serves as the main swimming spot for those staying at Hersonissos further inland, which is one of Heraklion’s most popular resorts, so it is fairly busy. Getting to the beach is easy, but the surrounding streets are usually crowded, as Limenas is built right up to the promenade.
