Fourni Forest

Fourni forest is a small artificial forest on the hill "Kefala" next to Kato Archanes village. It take its name from the homonymous pre minoan cemetery that has been found on the south side of the hill. The forest despite its small size is overgrown with pine and cypress trees and offers several trails, ideal for hiking and mountain biking. An ideal destination for a Sunday walk in nature as it is located only 17 km from Heraklion. Northwest at the start of the main path there is a small stone theater where you can enjoy the view to Archanes.
