Efrosini Winery

Our winery was founded in 2004, following the reconstruction of our ancestors’ fields in 1999.

Our practical knowledge of viticulture, combined with the guidance of experienced scientists, contributed to the creation of our first wine varieties and our initial awards in both local and international competitions. Our winery is situated in the village of Kerasia, in the Heraklion municipality, in an area lush with vineyards and olive trees. The broader region belongs to the Dafnes Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), where the Liatiko grape predominates. The name of our winery, Efrosini, comes from the ancient Greek word “efreno,” meaning delight or to please someone. As our ancestors used to say, “wine gladdens the heart of man.”

We cultivate locally grown white varieties Vidiano, Malvasia di Candia, and Assyrtiko, as well as red varieties Kotsifali and Liatiko, alongside international varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Chardonnay, all organically.
