Description
The Ecclesiastical Museum of Rethymno is housed in the Parish Office, opposite the Cathedral of Rethymno Town. Established in 1994, it includes church utensils, priests' vestiments and rare books dating from the early 19th to the present day. The museum also includes chalices, gospels, bells and rare Byzantine icons, among others.
One of the most prominent exhibits is a historical bell tower clock from 1894, which was in operation unit 1986 and it is one of the lasts of its kind.
