Ano Kalesia

Ano Kalesia (Άνω Καλέσια) is a charming traditional village in the Malevizi province, just southwest of Heraklion, Crete. Sitting at around 170–180 m elevation, it's home to roughly 300 residents living in classic stone-built houses . The village is part of the Kalesia community, closely linked with the nearby Kato Kalesia (about 300 m away), and known for its agricultural heritage.
At the heart of the village stands the church of Agios Georgios (Saint George), a focal point of local spiritual and cultural life .
