Description

The Almiros River is one of the most important rivers in the Chania region of Crete.It originates from underground springs near the Kalyves area and maintains a year-round flow, a rarity among Cretan rivers. Its waters are primarily used for agricultural irrigation, enriching the fertile valleys nearby, and the river's surroundings are characterized by abundant vegetation and small natural wetlands.
