Description
Agia Irini Gorge is a scenic gorge in western Crete, located in the White Mountains (Lefka Ori) and known as a quieter alternative to the more famous Samaria Gorge. The hiking trail begins near the village of Agia Irini and winds through a narrow, shaded valley filled with pine trees, cypress, and rocky formations. It is generally easier and shorter than some of Crete’s larger gorges, making it popular with hikers who want a less demanding but still beautiful route. The path eventually descends toward the area near Sougia, where visitors can relax by the sea after completing the hike.
