Orthi Ammos beach is located 8 km southeast of Chania and right next to Fragkokastelo.

The beach has shallow and beautiful waters and is ideal for those who want to enjoy a more quiet and isolated swim. Before visiting Orthi Ammos you should take into consideration that it is not organized with umbrellas and also it is vulnerable to south winds.

The beach took its name from the impressive hills of sand that are shaped at the coast and are a lot higher than the ground (Orthi Ammos= tall sand).
