Geropotamos river

Geropotamos River is a small but scenic river located in the Rethymno region of northern Crete. It flows through a green valley and reaches the sea near Geropotamos Beach, close to the village of Panormos. During the winter and spring months, the river carries fresh water from the surrounding hills, creating a natural habitat for birds and local wildlife. In summer, the river becomes calmer and is often crossed on the way to the beach.
