The Adventure Begins: Meeting Point and Forest Breakfast The journey starts in the mountainous village of Gergeri, the meeting point, where participants meet the Kapsali family. From there, you travel to Rouvas Forest. Upon arrival, you are welcomed with a rich traditional Cretan breakfast featuring pure local products and fresh honey.

Forest Secrets and the Truffle In Rouvas Forest, you’ll have the chance to observe the truffle search up close, alongside the experienced hunter and beekeeper, Nikos Kapsalis, and his trained dogs.

• Learn how wild truffles are located and harvested.
• Discover the forest ecosystem, the truffle’s role within it, and Crete’s nature.
• The process is hands-on and allows active participation by visitors.

The Wonderful World of the Bee The experience continues with a visit to the beehives, where the world of the bee comes alive:

• Bee behavior, its importance to the environment, and the stages of honey production are explained.
• Visitors see the equipment up close, learn about the world of bees, and taste beekeeping products (honey, pollen, royal jelly, etc.).

Traditional Lunch: A Tribute to Flavor To round out the tour, a traditional lunch with authentic Cretan flavors follows. The dishes are inspired by the natural products seen earlier, prepared using local recipes:
