The Loulioudis Winery traces back to 1920 in Dafnes, Heraklion. Grandfather Antonis grew Liatiko, Takta, and Kotsifali, building equipment himself and transporting wine to Heraklion in wooden and animal-skin barrels. In 1974, his children modernized the winery, bottling wine in concrete tanks and wooden barrels, later using plastic barrels for transport. Since 1999, grandson Antonis has led the winery. In 2004, new varieties—Muscat Spinafi, Thrapsathiri, Stripsimo, Plysimo, Syrah, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and more—were added. The bottling facilities opened in 2012, with wine stored in stainless steel and aged in oak. The first bottling occurred in 2016 with Kako Pouli (white and red); 2017–2018 saw five more labels, marking a new era.
