The Katharo River is a seasonal watercourse originating from the Katharo Plateau, situated in the Dikti Mountains of eastern Crete. This plateau, at an altitude of approximately 1,150 meters, is part of the Aposelemis River drainage basin. The river's waters flow through the Havgas Gorge, eventually merging with the Aposelemis River, which is a significant water source for the region
