Description
The Church of Agios Antonios in Agiofaraggo, southern Crete, is a hidden spiritual gem set deep within a dramatic gorge once home to hermits and ascetic monks. Dating back to the 13th century, this small stone chapel is partly carved into the rock and was later expanded to serve the growing monastic community. Surrounded by rugged cliffs and olive trees, and located just before the secluded beach at the end of the gorge, Agios Antonios offers visitors a unique blend of natural beauty, solitude, and centuries-old religious tradition.
