Trachoulas Beach

Trachoulas Beach, also known as Trafoulas, is a charming, rockbound shore located 69 km south of Heraklion Town, at the end of a small canyon on the Cape of the same name. According to the myth, Minoas, the king of Knossos, used to bathe there with his soldiers. The craggy landscape and natural beauty are truly enchanting, making it the perfect destination for a relaxing and blissful swim. The beach is covered in dark sand and fine pebbles, while the water is deep and crystal clear. The waves have created gorgeous natural sculptures on the rocks adorning the coast and the surface of the sea. You will not find any facilities such as umbrellas or sunbeds on the coast, as it is not organized, so it is recommended that you bring your own things.
