Arkoudiotissa

This cave is one of the most famous in Chania. Its name means "bear cave" because inside there is a stalagmite that resembles a bear leaning over, drinking water. In ancient times it was a sacred site dedicated to the goddess Artemis, and later it became a Christian place of worship with a small chapel inside.
