Plakias Port

Plakias New Port is a small, modern harbor located on the south coast of  Rethymno, Crete, just a few minutes to the west from the main village of Plakias. Recently developed and well-protected from the winds, it serves as an excellent starting point for exploring some of the island’s most impressive coastal destinations.

Thanks to its strategic position, the port offers easy access to the southwestcoastline toward Sfakia, including highlights such as Marmara Beach, Loutro, and the surrounding sea caves. Heading east, it’s the ideal departure spot for boat trips to Preveli Beach, Agios Pavlos, Paximadia Islets, Agiofarago, and even Gavdos, Europe’s southernmost island.
